Caty’s first post: My love for kids and art.

Hey. This is Caty, posting for the first time- out of all of the months we’ve had a blog. I don’t know if I’ll be posting frequently, but I am going to post a few things later tomorrow! First I am going to talk a little bit about myself, then I’ll move on to what’s been happening recently in me and my family’s life.

Okay, well my name is Catherine, but I prefer to go by Caty (Katie). I am home schooled, so I have some free time on my hands to do some extra work around the house… like my room… I also enjoy watching kids. At first, most of my “teenage” friends found it weird that I would take so much time out of my life to babysit. Then they came to a realization that I am a big kid myself, that working was just playtime for me, and that the kids I watched actually became my friends. I don’t have a hard time being myself around kids, because I know how to be immature or silly, and that’s what most kids like in me. (I can be serious too though.)

So there’s my love for kids, and my love for drawing. I have been drawing since I was very little, and practice has made me very talented at it.. although, I am not egocentric; therefore; I don’t strive to compete and try to draw better than everyone else. I’ve encountered so many people (when I was in public school) that would be harsh critics to others’ drawings to feel like the superior artist.. and I’m not like that. Drawing is something fun that I take pride in, encourage others to do, and most likely share with the ones I babysit.

Haha! Thanks to Jill (from church) for supplying me my first face painting kit, I have been practicing!

Not too shabby, eh? I do much better on paper than on Libby, but I am still learning.
