Supporting our local merchants, and our Troops…

It’s a bummer that the only Christian bookstore that we have in Surprise is part of Radiant church.  Don’t get me wrong, that isn’t a bad thing, but it is when you want to visit a freestanding bookstore that isn’t already embedded in a church, especially if it’s a church I don’t fellowship at.  Does that rant of mine make any sense?  Let us move on…

Donna and I came to realize that there’s a few people who don’t know about the bookstore that we have been frequenting for years over in Peoria.  Its on 67th Avenue and Peoria, called Crossroads of Life. The actual address is 6750 W. Peoria Ave, Suite 131 Peoria AZ 85345.  They always have a great selection, great sales, and we’ve watched them grow over the years.  Give them a try, I dare you.  :-)

On Saturday, Donna noticed a really cool item.  For only $5.00, you can buy a Bible for a US serviceman/woman, and the bookstore will ship it out for you.  There’s a few blank pages in the front of the Bible for you to write a personal note to thank the soldier and bless them with a note.  Below is a link for you so you can check it out if you are interested.  The Bible is known as the ‘Operation Worship’ Holy Bible – NLT

  1. I heard about this program while browsing a local Christian bookstore. It’s a great program and I think they offer discounts if you buy a case.

  2. Hey, thanks for the heads up on the bookstore – didn’t realize it even existed.

  3. Thanks for such good, practical tips! I will check it out soon!

Thanks to you and Donna for all your help today. I was so excited that you guys got both TVs to work! You both are my heros! We had a full house so God knew we needed them.

    Thanks a million!!!

  4. I will have to check that out. I go to a little store in Avondale on Dyzart. It is close to school and work. It’s pretty new, and the owner will order anything you need if they don’t have it, but there selection is pretty slim. So, now I know about another local store… and that Bible idea is awsome.

  5. Thanks all. Yeah Rachael, we’ve been to the one in Avondale too, sweet lady. :-)

  6. Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog. :) Cheers! Sandra. R.
